Photo Friday – Speed Hump Ahead

As we were wrapping up the maternity photo shoot Sara snapped the picture below.  I saw the “speed hump ahead” sign and thought it was very fitting given the impending arrival of our little one.  I think I read it speed bump instead of hump, but I’m guessing you get the belly analogy.  I can’t believe the big day is so close … only 10 days until Jellybean’s due date!!

Photo Friday – Medal Tree

A couple weekends ago when we went to the Cherry Blossom Festival we made a quick pit stop at the Sculpture Garden.  I quickly spanned a couple photos of the metal tree.  The picture below that is just a small piece of the tree grabbed my attention as I was editing the photos: blue sky, puffy white clouds and a little bit of art/culture thrown in.

Photo Friday – Cherry Blossom Festival 2013

Last weekend the husband and I headed down to the  Cherry Blossom Festival.  Although we had a great time walking around, the cherry blossoms were making a pretty poor showing.  I guess we shouldn’t have been surprised given a week before it was snowing here in DC!!  I found a couple cherry blossoms that had bloomed near the Washington Monument.

The flower looks so pretty on the branch all on it’s lonesome!  I can’t wait for the rest of the blossoms to flower.  Guess when it happens we will just have to make another trip downtown. =)

Black & White Photography – Geese

A couple weeks ago I shared the geese picture.  After seeing the blog post my friend suggested I turn the picture black and white as well a crop it a little.  So that’s exactly what I did and let me just say I pretty much LOVE  how it looks as a black and white.  It’s funny how make a photo black and white can make such a big difference in the overall composition.

Photo Friday – Geese

A couple weeks ago I shared a picture of the Washington Monument.  As I was reviewing the pictures from that day I realized there was one more shot from the day to share.  I love how the wings are fully extended for just one of the geese and the rest are just kind of chillin’. =)
