As 2014 kicks into high gear I thought it would be interesting to see what posts were most popular in 2013.  I was a bit surprised by the top 5, however maybe I shouldn’t be.  No two post were from the same category. which I was pretty happy about.  I think it helps “prove” sharing different types of tidbits is working out well for the blog!

Number 2 – DIY Wedding Envelopes with Calligraphy

Number 3 – French Dresser – Inspiration / Mood Board

The first purchase we made for the nursery was the dresser (and nightstand).  Everything else we selected was based on the shabby chic / french inspired dresser.

Number 4 – One Year in a Flash – Birthday Party

The party was decked out with all sorts of details and DIY projects.  As co-owner of Baker’s Bliss Kia made all her own cupcakes for the party!

Number 5 – {Pregnancy Tidbits} The 5th Month

I really enjoyed blogging about my pregnancy.  It’s fun to go back and read how each month went!  Some tidbit I remember so clearly and others I had kind of forgotten about.  I’m glad to have the pregnancy log to help me reminisce.

I’ve spent the past few weeks sharing my photos, but this week I wanted to change things up a bit.  Soooooo this week’s photo Friday was taken by Sara from Photos from the Harty!  Sara is not only a great friend, but she’s an amazing photographer!  Without further-a-do here’s a little note from Sara about her photo …

Hannah’s Special Day!  Preparing to walk down the aisle, Hannah is surrounded by her closest friends.  The day was prefect.  The weather was warm, the breeze was gently blowing, and love was all around.  The sun set over the ocean as Hannah and Brad said, “I do.”  I couldn’t have been happier to be part of their special day!

Happy Friday!!!

Right around the time of Super Storm Sandy the husband and I hung three photos in our hallway.  The other weekend my friend and I took a trip to Michael’s to purchase stuff for my friend’s baby shower I am throwing in February (more on that in the next couple of weeks).  When we were there we did a little extra curricular shopping as well!  It’s hard to go to Michael’s and only buy things that were on the list.  That place has so much fun stuff it’s crazy.

I love the look of “floating” photo frames and with the 40% holiday sale in full swing at Michael’s the justifications of purchasing them was complete!!  I picked out two 5 x 7 and one 11 x 15 frame.  I guessed on what sizes would look nice as add on(s) to the hallways photo gallery.  The husband and I hadn’t even really talked about what other pictures we might add to the wall.  Either way I figured three was a good a number.

For the big frame we picked this 8×10 wedding photo.  I feel slash felt really narcissistic putting up this photo, but I really just love it.  It’s a real smile (not just smiling for the camera in fact I think I was laughing at the husband doing something off to the side) and you can see the whole lobby of the St. Regis hotel.

For the smaller frames we did a 4×6 of our honeymoon in Positano, Italy and a fun picture from the wedding.

I think this picture is probably my husband’s favorite from the wedding.  I had always promised my husband we would find a spot for the picture and a little over a year later I did!  My sister did the details for this after the photographer made the little stick figures.

And can I just say that taking pictures of the hallway is kind of hard … I mean really hard to get a good shot.  I think I need dimmer lights in the hallway to help with lighting for pictures.  Ohhhh husband I have a new project for you hehehehe! =)

I’m not really sure how many more photos we are going to add to the hallway gallery, but I really like the new additions.  This will probably be one of those decorating projects that’s not ever 100% completed.  So we shall say phase 1 and 2 are complete (for now).

Phase 1:

Phase 2:  The extra three pictures make the big wall look a little fuller, which is good.

So what do you think? Do you like the mix and matching of frames?

Happy Decorating!

It seems we have come to the end of the wedding related posts.  I’ve shared my bridal shower and the bachelorette party as well as my wedding dress purchasing experience.  And let’s not forget about it pouring down rain only a few hours before what was suppose to be an outdoor ceremony.  Below I’ve listed all of the DIY projects we tackled along the way as well as the vendors we used.

But before we get to that here are just a few of my favorite pictures from the big day!  All of the photos below were taken by Korie Lynn Photography.

How cool is that detail shot?!?!  The pearl bracelet was HANDMADE by my Aunt!  I couldn’t find what I wanted so she made me the most perfect bracelet I could have ever imagined.

I had always dreamed of getting a picture in front of the white house and this was the perfect shot.  Luckily the rain held off until after this picture was snapped :)

This was taken in the lobby of the St. Regis a little while before the ceremony.  We had time to squeeze in a couple more photos so I suggested the purple couch since it matched our wedding colors.  I love that we are all smiles!

And last but certainly not least the picture above!  There I am between the two most important men in my whole life!  My husband to the left and my Dad to the right.  Not to mention all the special faces I can pick out in the crowd behind us.

Okay so there are some of the top pictures of the evening now for the roundup …
